From 3 November 2025, QantasLink is launching direct flights from Perth twice a week, replacing Virgin on the regular route to the Indian Ocean Islands.

This is the first time QantasLink will fly to our part of the world, where visitors can experience our pristine beaches, turquoise lagoons and relaxed island way of life.

Flights will run on Mondays and Fridays, perfect for long weekends, week-long breaks, or extended stays. Bookings open from 18 August 2025.

The change in flight day will impact existing accommodation and car hire bookings commencing or ending on a Tuesday after 30 October. We will be contacting affected travellers who have booked through the Cocos (Keeling) Islands’ Visitor Centre or website in the coming weeks.

If you have any queries about your booking through the Cocos (Keeling) Islands’ Visitor Centre or website, please contact us at [email protected]. If you booked directly with a local operator or travel agent, please contact them to update your reservation.

Flights will still depart from Terminal 1 (International Terminal) at Perth Airport. For flight enquiries, please contact Qantas directly.

While we’re excited about this new chapter, we’d also like to acknowledge the role Virgin Australia has played in connecting our islands over many years. Their professional service helped keep our community and visitors connected through some challenging times, and we thank them sincerely.

We look forward to beginning this new chapter with Qantas and to sharing our islands with more travellers in the years ahead.

It is rare, in this day and age, to come upon a place so delightful in both looks and temperament that, on the very first sighting, one’s jaw does genuinely drop.

If going with the flow is how you roll, you will love the Cocos Keeling Islands. They have a small – very small – country town vibe. Your activities revolve around the exquisite lagoon whether they be snorkelling, diving, fishing, parasailing, or just relaxing under a coconut palm reading a book while inhaling the frangipani infused air

Scuba diving at Cocos Keeling islands is nothing short of spectacular. Fabulous visibility, pristine coral reefs, abundant marine life and all the trappings of a tropical paradise without the flashy resorts. Yes, it is isolated and it takes some effort to get there, but this is more than offset by the quality of the diving, the friendly locals and the very laid back and relaxing ambience of the entire place. It is quirky, fun and a great place for a holiday. We will return and soon

Don’t miss this place. My wife and I recently spent a fantastic week on Cocos Keeling Islands. We took the opportunity to take the twice weekly ferry service from West Island to Direction Island... we loved it so much we came back for a second time.

Home Island is definitely quieter than West Island with religion a big part of daily life but the locals were so friendly and welcoming. It was so nice to be able to swim straight off the shore in amazing turquoise water while we cooked BBQs at sunset. Highly recommended!
